I created this blog so that I can stay connected with my friends and family to keep them updated on where my music is going. This album has been a long time coming and I am glad that I have finally wrapped up work on it. I began writing some of these songs while I was still in college so it is nice to finally have an album that is my own. SuperEgo is a double sided album. Side one is called Average Joe which is the ID side of the album. The music on this side of the album was heavily influenced by Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, and Zooey Deschannel. It is a throwback to the kind of music I was doing with my first band Audrey and the Hullaballoos and the title track is dedicated to my old guitarist Joe Wood who passed away in a car accident. The Egomaniac side of the album is dark melodic pop. It is a reflection of the drive and ambition that I have and also the dark side of my ego. I believe that we are all Egomaniacs in one way or another and that there is a reason that every artists feels the need to cry out for attention. Egomaniacs examines the side of our culture that is obsessed with fame. This album is a microcosm of my life in so many ways. I have always felt a dichotomy in my life and this album is that self expression.
